Report Suspicious Persons

At a recent meeting of police with the Operation West Bureau in regards to recent burglaries in the area, it was suggested that residents report any suspicious persons in the neighborhood to the Communications Division with the following information:

  • Advise the Operators that they have been advised by their Senior Lead Officers to notify the police of suspicious persons due to the increase of burglaries in their neighborhoods.
  • Provide detailed suspect information such as sex, descent, hair color, eye color, height, weight, and approximate age. Also provide a clothing description including visible logos or sports affiliations.
  • Provide detailed suspect vehicle information. Approximate year, make model, color, and license plate information and direction of travel should they leave the area.
  • If contact is made, what service where the subjects trying to sell, i.e magazines, alarm services, donations.

Communications Division is being notified as well by the Command Staff regarding the importance of these suspicious person radio calls in the area. Unless you’re witnessing a crime in progress please call 877.ASK.LAP
