A 5-story, 77-apartment mixed-use building is proposed for this double-lot at 2136-2140 Westwood Boulevard, replacing what is now a low-rise commercial complex. The developer is seeking Tier 2 height and density incentives under the citywide Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) program and (as with the other TOC projects on Westwood) there is no alleyway behind the project site to separate it from the single-family homes on Glendon.
Some tiering at the rear of the proposed building will provide a little mitigation of bulk of the new building. Nonetheless there will be upper floor windows, exterior decks and patios directly overlooking the homes on Glendon. An appeal by the most affected neighbor was ultimately withdrawn on advice of counsel.
