WNC has started a Community Clean Up to support our Local Business Community and to jump start what we all hope is the beginning of the way back to life prior to COVID-19 and all of its restrictions. Pico, Westwood, Sepulveda and Santa Monica are all looking a bit ragged and with a little community elbow grease, WNC believes we can make a big impact. We can not only clean up our own neighborhood, but give our businesses the boost they need to make it to the finish line and signal to them that the community cares about their well-being.
There are 40 sections in WNC’s clean-up map (see link below). Most sections are 2 blocks. WNC is asking folks to commit to a once a week cleaning up of trash for the next 6 weeks starting on March 21st. You can do it alone or with others—take a couple of areas if you do it as a group. This is a great activity for our local Churches, Schools and families. This is also a great way for kids to get in some community hours while taking pride in their community.
WNC has also partnered with Pacific Graffiti Solutions to clear large items, graffiti and unsafe trash. Please direct all of your volunteers to take a picture of the item, include location and email to pacificgraffitisolutions@yahoo.com
If any of your volunteers need trash bags or gloves, they are available for pick up. Just email Lisa Morocco at wncseat2@gmail.com to arrange a time.
