The motion made by Councilman Koretz on January 23 to rezone Rancho Park from the current R1 (Baseline Mansionization Ordinance) zone to variation zone R1-V2 (which would allow construction of larger houses) will not proceed any further. The news was announced by CD5 Planning Deputy Hagu Solomon-Cary at our February 5 meeting and was met with a round of applause from the “full house” of homeowners in attendance.
The motion in question will be “received and filed” but no further action will be taken. This means that – until further notice – standard R1 zoning will remain in-place in our area.
