Here is the WSSM area COVID report for the week ending June 19. Residents of Los Angeles, and especially the Westside, should view COVID trends in our area with alarm. In the past six weeks, the rate of new infections in LA County has doubled; it’s now at 1500 every day. In the meantime, we continue to reopen the economy which in many other communities in the US has been followed by worrying levels of new infections. It is quite possible we will see even worse increases in our area than the recent doubling. Even on the Westside, and notably the WSSM HOA area, we are seeing a trend to more infections.
As we reopen, it is vital that all our residents stay disciplined in using masks, washing hands, and maintaining physical distance.
